Update: Dear MCS Families, We want to inform you that all Murray County School District schools are currently under a soft perimeter lockdown. This lockdown is a precautionary measure requested by local law enforcement due to an ongoing event in the vicinity of our schools. During this perimeter lockdown, students will not be permitted outside the school buildings. However, please be assured that all school activities are proceeding as usual within the buildings, and the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. We want to emphasize that all students and staff are safe within the school buildings. Dismissal times will remain unchanged, and we anticipate a smooth and orderly dismissal process. We understand that situations like these can cause concern. Still, please rest assured that we are working closely with law enforcement to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in our school community. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Due to the extremely low temperatures and the potential for power outages across the district, Murray County Schools will be closed for in-person instruction tomorrow, January 17th. However, in order to engage our students while we are out of school, Wednesday will be considered a Distance Learning Day. Students with Chromebook access may have assignments shared through their Google Classrooms. Students without Chromebook access will be given non-digital assignments by their teachers. Schools/Teachers will communicate their expectations for the day directly with our parents and students. Student expectations will not be overwhelming, but we do want the students to engage in some learning activities since we are not in school. Again, expectations and assignments for the day will be directly communicated from your teacher. Stay warm and safe! Murray County Schools will be closed tomorrow Tuesday, January 16, 2024, due to inclement weather. We will continue to monitor the forecast and share an official statement Tuesday afternoon concerning delays or closures for Wednesday, January 17th. Dear MCS Families, We hope this message finds you well. We wanted to inform you that Murray County Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay tomorrow Tuesday, January 9, 2024. This decision is based on the forecasted high winds (gusts up to 60 mph) that may impact our area during student pick-up time for buses. The safety of our students is our utmost priority. The delayed start will allow our bus drivers to conduct pickups during daylight hours, ensuring a safer journey to school by navigating any potential debris or challenges caused by the weather. We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter as we prioritize the well-being of our students and staff. Thank you for your continued support of Murray County Schools. This week is our Christmas Lunch! Tickets must be pre-purchased so we can plan for food and seating. Tickets will not be sold at the door. We hope to see you there!

Eton has logged our first of the food we saved from being thrown away! We are committed to helping our families one apple at a time! We are very THANKFUL to Food Lion, for donating the food boxes that were purchased within our community and for the turkeys!
